Field of Work General Education
Systematic/ Historical/ Comparative Pedagogy

General Education analyses and reflects on socialisation, upbringing and educational processes in a comparative social, historical and international dimension as well as their systematic significance.
The field of work has set its research focus on historical educational research.
The curriculum mainly covers basic concepts and fundamental questions of educational science as well as social history and the history of pedagogical theory, institutions and discipline. The aim of the curriculum is to give students in-depth insights into the central concepts, questions and cultural-social challenges of educational science and across the individual sub-disciplines and diverse fields of educational practice from a historical-systematic and international-comparative perspective. Thus, on the one hand, General Education provides basic knowledge before students continue their studies in the specialised educational fields of school pedagogy and special educational needs/inclusion, and on the other hand, it helps to prepare students with the development of an identity as a teacher.
